Courtesy Overdraft ProtectionJust In CaseWe understand that mistakes happen. A check or debit returned for nonsufficient funds (NSF) can create awkward or embarrassing problems yet our observation is that most of our customers make deposits that would have covered an overdraft within a few days. To serve you better, we have added a Courtesy Overdraft feature to your checking account. This may save you the embarrassment and hassle of returned checks. And, there are no application hassles because the service is automatic. There is no additional cost for this enhancement but our normal Overdraft and Sustained Overdraft Consumer Fees will apply. Please see below for some restrictions that also apply. Your debit card is all about convenience. So is opting in.New regulations affect how we are able to handle certain types of overdrafts incurred on debit card purchases after August 15, 2010. If we do not have your consent to begin or continue your Courtesy Overdraft protection coverage on one-time debit card purchases, we will be required to deny coverage on these transactions. Opting in ensures that any debit card overdrafts after August 15, 2010 will be authorized and paid. If you don't opt in your debit card purchases will be declined if you do not have the account balance to cover them. Situations like this can be embarrassing, inconvenient and in some cases even incur charges from the merchant. You can opt-in by simply calling or stopping by your local branch. Other RestrictionsThis service is only available for domestic accounts with ongoing deposits in excess of the overdraft balance limit shown below for your type of account. Failure to make deposits in excess of the overdraft balance limit assigned to your account may result in the feature being removed for inactivity. For those customers who have a Personal Line of Credit account to cover overdrafts, this feature will be unavailable as the personal line of credit will continue to be your overdraft protection.
