A Message to our customers about the Home Depot data breach

On Tuesday, September 2, Home Depot disclosed that they were investigating a possible breach of their payment data systems. They have now confirmed that those systems have in fact been breached, which could potentially impact any customer that has used their Dean Bank card or other cards, from April forward. Home Depot does not have any evidence that the breach has impacted customers who shopped online at HomeDepot.com.

Home Depot apologized and emphasized that their customers will not be responsible for any fraudulent charges to their accounts. They are offering free identity protection services, including credit monitoring, to any customer who has shopped at a Home Depot store in 2014, from April on.

You can learn more about the identity protection services and how to sign up for them https://homedepot.allclearid.com/. It is important to closely monitor your debit and credit card accounts and report unusual activity to us or any other bank.

Dean Bank is in the process of notifying customers whose debit cards have been impacted. If you have been affected, Dean Bank will update you as quickly as possible as to what the next steps are regarding issuance of a replacement debit card, etc.
