Although the summer is still in full swing, thoughts of “back to school” and “hurricane season” loom large in the back of my mind.  I hope your summer travels have been safe and you’ve allowed Dean Bank to ensure reliable Debit Card processing by notifying us when you intend to be out of the New England area.

Dean Bank strives to deliver financial products that exceed your needs, with a level of service that is not commonly found today.  It’s my pleasure to share some new developments with you; one about your Dean Bank Debit card and the other related to future enhancements.

Last August Dean Bank announced our ability to produce “Instant Issue” debit cards at all four of our branch offices.  This technology has been well received for producing both brand-new debit cards for new and existing customers and reissuing cards.  Many of you have personalized your debit card with a personal image!  Beginning early this fall, Dean Bank will begin issuing Debit Cards with the EMV chip.  Those of you traveling outside the US may benefit by the more secure EMV Debit Card, as many merchants throughout Europe and Canada require the EMV chip card.  Merchants in the US have been a little slower adopting the more secure technology, so we will be issuing EMV Debit Cards as your current card expires.  If you prefer the EMV Debit Card call us to arrange for your card to be reissued sooner than the expiration date printed on the card.  Better yet, stop by any branch to have your EMV Debit Card issued instantly.  All branches will be equipped for instant issue EMV Debit Cards by early fall 2016.

Once again Dean Bank was named Regional Favorite Community Bank for the 9th consecutive year in Wicked Local’s Readers’ Choice Awards.  Voters have been selecting Dean Bank as their favorite Community Bank since 2008, a streak that we are most-proud of.  I would like to thank our staff for their sustained commitment to superior service and our customers for their loyalty.  We could not achieve this honor for close to a decade without both groups successfully working together.
